The feeding schedule is stored in the feeder itself. If your Wi-Fi drops, your router reboots or your phone is dead, your pet still eats on time. If the power goes out, four AA backup batteries take over. The app is for changing things and checking in, never for the feeding itself.

ChromeFeeder
No camera at all, and that is the point. An all-steel bowl, a small footprint and nothing pointing at your kitchen.
FeedMate
The all-rounder. Choose it with the 1080p camera if you want to look in on your pet while you are out, or without the camera to pay âŹ82,00 instead of âŹ99,99.
Titan
15 litres on a height-adjustable stand, a triple-seal lid and a voice message. Built for big dogs and for filling once a month.
Setting it up
Wash and dry the bowl and hopper
Both come apart. Everything must be bone dry before kibble goes in — a damp hopper is how food goes musty.
Drop in a desiccant bag and fill
One bag under the lid keeps the kibble crisp. Replace it about once a month.
Plug in over USB-C and add four AA batteries
Do not skip the batteries. They are what keeps your pet fed during a power cut.
Add it in Tuya Smart
Same app as the fountains. Keep your phone next to the feeder while pairing and have your Wi-Fi password ready.
Set your schedule, then test it once
Run one manual feed and watch it land in the bowl. Weigh that portion while you are at it — see below.
How to work out grams
Feeders measure by volume, not weight, so one portion of dense kibble weighs more than one portion of airy kibble. There is no universal gram figure — but finding yours takes two minutes.
Dispense one portion into a bowl
Use the manual feed button in the app.
Weigh it
A kitchen scale will do. Say it comes out at 12 g.
Divide your pet's daily amount by that
If your bag says 60 g a day, that is five portions. Split them across the meals you want — three meals of two, one, and two portions, for example.
Write the number down somewhere. You only have to do this once per brand of food, and it saves you guessing every time you switch bags.
What happens when something drops out
Wi-Fi goes down
Nothing changes for your pet. The schedule runs from the feeder's own memory. You lose the app connection, notifications and the camera until it comes back.
Power cut
The four AA batteries take over and the schedule keeps running. To stretch them, power-hungry functions are paused — live camera view will not work on batteries.
Your phone dies or you are abroad
Irrelevant. The feeder does not need your phone to feed.
You want to change the schedule remotely
That does need Wi-Fi at the feeder's end. Set your holiday schedule before you leave rather than counting on changing it from a beach.
Check the backup batteries twice a year. They sit unused for months, which is exactly why people find them flat on the one day they were needed.

No wet food, ever
Wet or semi-moist food sticks in the chute, spoils inside the hopper and cannot be cleaned out properly. Dry kibble only, in all three feeders.
Very large or oddly shaped kibble can bridge above the chute too. If food stops coming through, check the kibble size before you assume the motor has failed.

The hopper is removable on all three models. Let it dry completely — even slightly damp, it will spoil the next fill.

Dry food only
If your pet is on wet food, an automatic feeder is not the right product.
Portions are by volume
Expect to weigh one portion when you start, and again when you switch food brands.
Determined cats can be inventive
A cat that has learned to knock over a feeder will try. Put it somewhere stable, against a wall, and the Titan's weight works in your favour here.
Questions we get about feeders
Will my pet still be fed if the Wi-Fi goes down?
Yes. The schedule lives inside the feeder, not in the app or the cloud. Once you have set it, the feeder keeps to it whether or not there is Wi-Fi, and whether or not your phone is nearby. Wi-Fi is only needed to change settings, watch the camera or receive notifications.
And if the power goes out?
Every feeder takes four AA batteries as backup and keeps feeding on schedule. To make the batteries last, some functions are paused while running on them — live camera view in particular. Keep four AAs in it and you are covered for a power cut.
How many grams is one portion?
It depends entirely on your kibble, because portions are measured by volume, not weight. Dense kibble weighs more per portion than airy kibble.
Set the feeder to dispense one portion into a bowl, put it on a kitchen scale, and you have your number. Then work out how many portions per meal your pet needs.
How many meals a day can I set?
As many as you like, with as many portions per meal as you like. Most cats do well on three or four smaller meals rather than two big ones.
What size kibble fits?
Up to 12 mm on the ChromeFeeder and the FeedMate, and up to 17 mm on the Titan. Larger pieces than that can bridge in the chute.
Can I use wet food?
No. These are dry-food feeders only. Wet food sticks in the mechanism, spoils quickly and cannot be cleaned out properly.
What can the FeedMate camera do?
1080p with night vision. You watch live, talk to your pet through the speaker, and you can record a clip while you are watching. There is no continuous recording and no cloud archive — the camera is for checking in, not for surveillance.
Can I record a message for mealtime?
Yes, on the FeedMate and the Titan. Record your voice once and it plays every time food is dispensed. Most pets learn it within a couple of days and come running.
Which app, and does it work on my Wi-Fi?
Tuya Smart, the same app for all three feeders and for the fountains. It works on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
Do I need the desiccant bags?
One comes with your feeder. Replace it about once a month. They pull moisture out of the hopper, which keeps kibble crunchy and stops it going musty — especially worth it if you fill a 15 L Titan and it takes weeks to empty.
How long is the warranty?
Two years on every feeder, in line with Belgian and EU consumer law.
