Note: this is the HEPA filter, not the washable pre-filter. The pre-filter that came with your FurVac stays reusable — just rinse and dry it.
When To Replace The Filter?
Your FurVac uses two filters. The washable pre-filter catches hair and coarse dust and is reusable — rinse it and let it dry for 24 hours. The HEPA filter sits behind it and holds back fine dust, dander and allergens; water damages the fine mesh, so this one is replaced rather than washed.
There's no fixed replacement date — it depends on how much you groom, how much your pet sheds and how many pets you have.
- Normal use (grooming about once a week): swap every ~3 months, so this 2-pack covers around 6 months.
- Intensive use (several times a week, long-haired or heavy shedder, multiple pets): every 6 to 8 weeks — the pack lasts about 3 to 4 months.
- Occasional use (once or twice a month): the pack easily lasts a full year.
Replace sooner when suction drops, the filter stays grey after tapping it out, or you notice a dusty smell during use. No subscription — order a pack when you need one.
