Q: Can I watch the video files on a PC or smartphone?
A: Yes, the videos can be saved onto a microSD card (up to 256GB, card not included), or backed up to cloud storage (available through the app). You can view the footage directly in the petzero or tuya app.
Q: For the dual-bowl version, does each bowl get a separate portion, or is it split between them?
A: The portion is divided between both bowls, and how it’s distributed depends on how you’ve positioned the internal meal divider.
Q: Is it compatible with wet food?
A: The Feedmate feeder is designed specifically for dry food only. It supports kibble sizes from 2 to 15mm (0.07–0.6 inches). Larger pieces may clog the dispenser.
Q: Is this suitable for large dogs?
A: This model is best suited for small to medium-sized pets.
Q: How long does the moisture absorber last?
A: It’s recommended to replace the desiccant bag every 15 days to prevent moisture buildup and mold.
Q: Can I set different portion sizes for different feeding times?
A: Yes, you can customize the amount of food dispensed for each individual meal.
Q: Can a cat shake the feeder to release more food?
A: No, the feeder’s design is fully enclosed, which helps prevent pets from dislodging extra food by shaking or nudging the device.
Q: Can it run on battery power alone, or is the battery just a backup for outages?
A: The batteries are intended only as an emergency backup in case of power failure. When running only on batteries, features like WiFi, the camera, the record button, and the reset function are disabled—but the feeding schedule will still operate as planned.
- Always use the original 5V adapter provided with the device.
- Only use alkaline D-type batteries for backup purposes. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
- Please note: Batteries are not included in the package.
